Socks

Learn socks on two circular needles, (we can teach you using double points as well). You'll be knitting one mini sock, and we can help you cast on your first regular sock before class ends. This sock will be a cuff down sock, meaning we'll start at the cuff and work to the toe. You'll learn how to make a heel flap and turn the heel with short rows. Pick up stitches for the gusset and you're on your way toward the toe. We'll end up with the Kitchener stitch to make a seamless finish.

What you'll need to bring to class:

  • Yarn for mini sock. We recommend a DK or sport yarn or even worsted weight to make it easier to see what you're doing! Leftovers are fine as long as the yarn is smooth (no novelties!).
  • Appropriate size needles - two (2) sets circular. DK or Sport bring US size 5 or 6; Aran or worsted bring US size 7 or 8.
  • Basic knitting kit
  • Sock yarn and needles for starting your "real" sock!

Currently offered:

  • Time & Date: By Appointment
  • Cost: $15, includes pattern. You will need 2 sets of circular needles.
