These are a few of my favorite APPS: Knitting

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the quilting APPS I have on my iPod Touch. If you’re a knitter – have no fear – there are plenty of knitting APPS out there. Here are a few of my favorite ones:

  • KnitGauge – Has two positionable “needles” between which you count (and apply) the number of stitches (or rows). The app instantly calculates the number of stitches per inch, 2″, and 4″. Great for those swatches that have the just a bit more or less of a stitch when you measure with your tape measure. Speaking of which, there is a “tape measure” built into the program (inches and centimeters). Price is $0.99
  • ConvertKnit – Need to know how many grams in a ounce – or vice versa? A US 8 needle is how many mm’s? ConvertKnit answers these questions and more. Price is $0.99
  • StitchMinder – More than a row counter, StitchMinder can help you keep track of how many decreases or increases you’ve done, number of pattern repeats completed, and more. It’s easy to increase the count with a tap of your finger. This app is free.
  • Knit Counter Lite – Another row counter, only this one can store project details and alert when it’s time to increase or decrease based on your row count. Need to frog a few rows? No need to reset your counter – there is a frogging option! Lite version is free; full version is $3.99

All these apps are available from the Apple iTunes store.

What are your favorite apps for knitting or crochet?

Hi Alana! It is my new WP blog. I love working with WordPress – it’s so easy to update, categorize, tag, etc. I think I’ve only scratched the surface of what can be done. Thanks for stopping by!
