Nifty Notions

scissor pals - to keep your scissors from getting lostAs much as I love fabric and yarn, there is a certain thrill that comes from a really cool or fun or useful notion. Today a small box from Bryson Distributors arrived, and I was not disappointed with the contents! (Which of course, is a good thing since I ordered everything in the box!).

I get quite a few knitting notions and patterns from Bryson, but they also carry a number of things that quilters would enjoy. Scissor Pals are such an item. These charming (sorry!) identifiers attach to your scissors or rotary cutter and allow you to distinguish your cutting device from others. Great for knitting group or quilt class or just to keep the rest of the family from touching your scissors. Each Pal has a lovely charm and a crystal on a black cord. They are $8.00 each and we’re running an introductory special: buy three for $20! They make a great gift!!

Stitch Dots - Stitch Markers with something to say

Stitch Dots - Stitch Markers with something to say

Another cool – and useful – notion that arrived was Stitch Dots. These clever stitch markers for knitters go beyond your regular stitch marker; these have helpful bits printed on the marker. There is “WS” (wrong side), “RS” (right side), “START,” “DEC” (decrease), and more. These blue and green markers come with a coin purse style pouch (the kind you squeeze to open; my dad always carried one) so you can keep your markers contained when not in use. Priced at $7.00, they will fit needles up to US11.
